Meet the Team

Sarah Porter - Manager and Owner

After finishing my teacher training, I worked in three primary schools during my fourteen year teaching career. After the birth of my final baby, I decided to focus on pre-school and early years education and childcare and embarked on my new career as owner and manager of The Stables in September 2016. I am heavily influenced by the Scandinavian approach to Early Years Education.

Kathy Cobby - Deputy Manager

I have worked at The Stables Nursery since 1990 under the ‘old’ system and I stayed on when Sarah took over in 2016. I have an NVQ level 3 in childcare and education and when at work I divide my time between being with the children and doing my administration work in the office. In my spare time I enjoy being with my grandchildren who keep me young!!

Lynsey Marden - Nursery Practitioner

For the last 19 years I have been lucky enough to raise my four daughters.  Now that my last has settled into school life, I decided it was time to set myself a new challenge and I was lucky enough to be welcomed into The Stables team, where I have been working since October 2016. In September 2018 I completed my level 3 NVQ in childcare and I’ve also completed a course to become a designated lead in the safeguarding of children. With a busy family life I don’t get much spare time but when I do, I love a good shopping trip and also socialising with my friends.
